About Diane

I was raised in Kendal and learned to swim with Kendal Swimming Club, meeting in the old public baths in All Hallows Lane. In my late 20s, in Australia, I started swimming again in the warm 50m pools in suburban Sydney. I did my first open water event, the Cole Classic, in the 1990s off Bondi Beach and then completed it the following year off Manly Beach, transitioning from breaststroke to frontcrawl. I have completed in many organised events in the UK, including the Dart 10K, Scilly Swim Challenge, Windermere one way, and the Great North Swim.
